Worship God

We Make the Road by Walking

September 5, 2021 we began a church-wide, year-long journey through scripture.

Please get a copy of Brian McLaren's book, "We Make the Road by Walking: A Year-Long Quest for Spiritual Formation, Reorientation, and Activation." We begin reading chapter 1 on September 1. Each chapter is about four pages long and is accompanied by a set of Scripture readings and reflection questions.

September 5 will be the first sermon in this series. September 15 the Wednesday Bible study will meet to discuss chapters 1-3, and then will discuss one chapter per week following. To join the Bible study contact Pastor John at 703-527-8844 or jconway@cumcballston.org.

God is Everywhere. We can be, too.

Worship in person or virtually.

In person worship on Saturdays at 4:30 p.m.

Saturdays at 4:30 p.m. we will worship in person at 4701 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203. Details on how to find us are available here.

Due to the uncertainty of covid transmission rates please confirm we are meeting in person each week before traveling to the church. Our weekly Friday email and outgoing voicemail message (703-527-8844) will confirm if we are worshipping in person that week.

Virtual worship through zoom and facebook on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

Starting September 19, 2021 on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. we will share a recording of our in person worship service for all who want to worship from home via Zoom or Facebook.

Worship is also broadcast on television each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. on Comcast channel 69 and Verizon channel 38 courtesy of Arlington Independent Media. This is a recording of the previous week's worship service.

Covid Mitigation Protocols

  • Upon arrival we will ask for your name and contact information to be used only if needed for contact tracing due to Covid-19 exposure.

  • We will ask you to review and affirm that our health acknowledgement poster is true for you that day.

  • Masks required inside for all persons present over age 2.

  • Worship leaders will remove their mask when speaking or singing to improve vocal clarity.

  • All clergy are fully vaccinated.

  • Each household is asked to sit six feet away from other households. Pews are marked with tape to help indicate distances.

  • Windows in the sanctuary will be open to improve circulation of fresh air.

  • The offering plates will be located in the rear of the sanctuary to make a financial contribution as you enter or leave worship. We will not pass the communion plates around the sanctuary during worship.

  • On communion Sundays the communion elements (individually packaged grape juice and gluten free wafers) will be available in a basket when you enter the sanctuary. Please take your communion elements with you to your seat for the communion portion of our service.

Join us for virtual worship on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. (Eastern)
