Put on your best bib and tucker (if you still have a tucker), and come to the fun-filled Fifth First Annual Harvest Dance in the CUMC Gymnasium the evening of Saturday, October 20th! Way back in 2008 the CUMC “Class of 1962” worked hard and succeeded marvelously to make the first CUMC Harvest Festival Dance a truly memorable event for CUMC members and friends of all ages! In following years, the choir, our 20s/30s group and others at CUMC have worked together to make this one of THE highlights of our CUMC year!
Not only will the music again be provided by a live band, but that band is The Northern Lights Dance Orchestra -- one of the premier Big Bands in the National Capital Region!! This band was established in the 1940s and continues to this day to provide the very best in classic Big Band and swing standards, as well as music for virtually every style of dance music in the decades since it’s founding.
You will need a ticket, but getting one is easy beyond belief. The organizers this year can still use help with set-up, decorations and other matters requiring creative minds, helpful hands and strong backs, so please see Dave Hoard to offer your services – and see Sharon Lovering to get tickets for you and your friends! See the “Ad” in this Steeple Chimes for more details.
Pat Barham is looking for people to sign up and bring snacks, sandwiches, veggies, fruit, drinks for that day. If you can help, please let me know asap either by phone 703-578-4935 or e-mail at Office@CUMCBallston.org. It is always good to know what is coming in ahead of time so we don't over buy. Thanks in advance for all the donations and or helpers!
