Michael Fox, Trumpet, and the Polished Brass
On Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall the Christian Arts Ministry will present, Trumpeter Michael Fox joined by Polished Brass.
Polished Brass, features some of the DC area's finest brass players. Members of the group hail from the Julliard Conservatory, Berkley College of Music, and the US Military Bands and other notable institutions.
Combining the traditional Brass Quintet (two trumpets, French horn, trombone and tuba) with vocals, guitar and percussion, Polished Brass explores classical favorites by Bach, Handel, Ewald, and Arnold, plus familiar marches, ragtime, jazz, Broadway and rock tunes from Sousa, Joplin, Lennon & McCartney, Thelonius Monk, Rogers & Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Stevie Wonder, and more!Come hear brass at its best. Who knows, you may even end up dancing to a New-Orleans-style brass band before the evening's over!
As usual, there will be a reception following the concert in the CUMC Fellowship Hall. Come meet the musician and your fellow community members!
