The picnic has been rescheduled, and once again everyone is invited!
September 18, 11:45 am – 2:00 pm, Lacey Woods Park. Note the new location this year due to temporary closure of Quincy Park.
Lacey Woods Park is at the corner of North George Mason Dr. and Washington Blvd. We have reserved the back shelter furthest from the playground.
Rides from CUMC will be available following worship. The Park is also accessible via bus (Metro 2A and ART 51). Bring a side dish to share and the Young Adults will provide everything else.
“Flat Jesus” is a way to stay connected during the summer travel season.
Print out Flat Jesus, color him in, and take a of picture of him wherever you go!
You’ll love taking FLAT JESUS out to dinner with you, on vacation, to the beach, to hang with your family, and when you meet new friends and neighbors all over town! It’s an amazing adventure. Take Flat Jesus with you and see what happens.
How to create your very own Flat Jesus
Download our template (the file cumc flat jesus.pdf is below) and print out a copy (you might want to use heavy card stock). If you print it double sided the address of our Facebook page will print out to remind you to upload the photos you take.
Be creative! Decorate Flat Jesus. Think about what, if anything, his robe should say. What color and type of hair does your Flat Jesus have? What color skin tone? Any accessories?
Make one for yourself and one for a friend!
Take photos with Flat Jesus through the summer wherever you go!
Share your photos with us by uploading them to our facebook page at www.facebook.com/cumcballston
You can also email your Flat Jesus photos directly to Pastor Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have trouble uploading to facebook.
Talk with family and friends about what you and Flat Jesus experienced.
Helpful hint: if you have access to a laminating machine, laminate your Flat Jesus. This way if he attempts to walk on water or spills a lot of wine, he’ll be protected!
every Friday in the church Hitt Fellowship Hall from 5:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. Come anytime between those hours to help as long as you can.
If you can help please let our volunteer coordinator know by emailing email@example.com
Donations of any unused Metro fare cards would be appreciated for our homeless program. Just drop them in the offering plate any Sunday. Thank you for your support of this very important ministry.
